EARLY CHILDHOOD MOVEMENT
Ages 2-5

Our age-specific classes meet children exactly where they are developmentally, helping them build the skills and confidence to grow into the next stage of movement—from their very first climb to confidently navigating their first independent obstacle course.

Your child's earliest years are some of the most important for physical development. Long before they learn to dribble a basketball, swing a bat, or ride a bike, they're building the fundamental movement skills that will support everything they do for years to come.

Running.
Jumping.
Balancing.
Climbing.
Hanging.
Crawling.
Rolling.
Landing safely.
Coordinating their body.
Learning how to move confidently through the world.

At Warrior Playground, we've designed an early childhood program that develops these essential movement foundations through imaginative play, obstacle courses, games, and age-appropriate challenges that keep children engaged, active, and excited to learn.
Because at this age, the best learning happens through play.

Why Movement Matters

Movement is one of the primary ways young children learn about themselves and the world around them.

As children climb, balance, jump, crawl, and explore, they're developing far more than physical skills. They're strengthening neural pathways, improving coordination, building body awareness, learning to solve movement challenges, and developing the confidence that comes from accomplishing something new.
These experiences become the foundation for future success—not just in sports, but in everyday life.

Children who develop strong movement skills often feel more confident on the playground, are better prepared for future activities, and are more willing to try new things because they've already learned that challenges can be fun.

Our goal isn't to create the next Ninja Warrior.
It's to help every child build the physical confidence to enjoy a lifetime of movement.

A Movement Pathway That Grows With Your Child

Every stage of early childhood brings exciting new movement milestones.
That's why our Early Childhood Movement Pathway is thoughtfully divided into age-appropriate stages. Each class is designed around what children are developmentally ready to learn, helping them build confidence, coordination, and independence while having an incredible time moving.

As children grow, they'll naturally progress into the next stage, building on the skills they've already developed and preparing them for the first level of our Youth Ninja program: Ninja Fundamentals.
Early Movers (2–3)
Explore movement together.
Our youngest adventurers attend with a parent or caregiver while discovering climbing, crawling, balancing, rolling, and body awareness through playful exploration designed for early childhood.
Movement Explorers (3–4)
Build confidence through movement.
Children begin participating more independently while developing balance, coordination, listening skills, and confidence through imaginative games and obstacle adventures.
Movement Builders (4–5)
Prepare for Ninja Fundamentals.
As children grow stronger and more confident, they'll tackle more complex movement challenges while developing the independence and body control that prepares them for the first level of our Youth Ninja program: Ninja Fundamentals.

The Skills They'll Build for Life

Balance & Stability
Learning to control their body while walking, climbing, balancing, and changing direction helps children develop confidence in how they move every day.

Coordination
Crossing the midline, jumping with two feet, hopping, climbing, throwing, catching, and sequencing movements all help children develop the coordination they'll use for countless future activities.

Strength & Body Control
Climbing, crawling, hanging, pushing, pulling, and exploring obstacles naturally develop strength in ways that feel like play instead of exercise.

Agility & Spatial Awareness
Obstacle courses teach children how to move safely through space, react to changing environments, and become more aware of how their body moves.

Confidence Through Accomplishment
Every successful climb. Every brave jump. Every new skill. Every proud smile. Those moments teach children one powerful lesson: "I can do hard things."

Social & Emotional Growth
Children practice listening, taking turns, encouraging others, and celebrating each other's successes while learning in a supportive environment.

Learning Through Play

Children learn differently than adults.
They don't need repetitive drills.
They need imagination.
One week they might be crossing a jungle river.
The next they're climbing a snowy mountain.
The following week they're rescuing animals or exploring outer space.
Every adventure is carefully designed around specific movement goals while feeling like pure fun to your child.
Behind every obstacle is intentional coaching.
Behind every game is purposeful movement.
Behind every laugh is meaningful learning.
To your child, it feels like an adventure. To us, every adventure has a purpose.

Frequently Asked Questions
What ages is the Early Childhood Movement Pathway for?
The Early Childhood Movement Pathway is designed for children ages 2–5 years old.
Does my child need any previous experience?
Not at all. This program is specifically designed for beginners. Every child progresses at their own pace, and our coaches meet them where they are.
Is this a ninja class?
No. Obstacles are one of the many movement tools we use, but the focus is much bigger than ninja. Our goal is to help children develop the fundamental movement skills that support healthy physical development through climbing, jumping, balancing, swinging, crawling, and imaginative play.
Are parents required to participate?
Parents must participate with their child in Early Movers. In Movement Explorers, parent participation is optional. By Movement Builders, most children are self-sufficient without a parent. For all levels, 15 minutes of open play is included after class, and parents are responsible for children during this time.
What should my child wear?
Comfortable athletic clothing and clean indoor athletic shoes.

How do I know which level is right for my child?
We recommend the level that best matches your child's age and developmental readiness. If you're unsure, schedule a free trial and our coaches will help place your child in the class where they'll be most successful.
What if my child isn't ready to move to the next level yet?
Every child develops at their own pace.
Our age recommendations are designed to match typical developmental milestones, but our coaches will always help you determine the class where your child will feel the most successful. We never rush children through the pathway—our goal is to help every child build confidence, one accomplishment at a time.
